Each
Team will Play
No Less than 5 Games!
Initial
Pool Seeds: Teams
receive qualifying seeding points for each qualification they
achieve during the regular season. A 1st place
qualification is worth 3 points, with 2 points for 2nd, and 1
point for 3rd or 4th.
Pool
play is also significant, since only the top teams
advance into the National Championship double-elimination
bracket. Remaining teams enter the consolation
double-elimination bracket.
Pool
Play: You'll begin with
three pool games to determine your seeding in the tournament
bracket. Pools will be seeded by Super Series based upon
each team's finish in qualifying events during the regular
season.
Championship
Bracket Play:
Effective in 2007, pool play results in
summer national championships will have
significantly increased importance.
The number of teams advancing to the
championship bracket after pool play shall
be:
Total Teams Teams Advancing to
Entered in Event
Championship Bracket
1 to
16
All 17 to 32 16
33 to 48
24 49 to 64 32
(This places increased
importance on pool play games. For
example, if there were 32 total teams in a
championship, the top 16 finishers in pool go to the
championship, and 16 teams would advance to
consolation. For a full event of 64
total teams, a maximum of 32 teams advance to the championship
bracket, and the reminder advance to
consolation. Pool play is now very
important)
Consolation
Bracket:
For all divisions, any team not advancing to the championship
bracket, a consolation bracket will be offered.
Bracket
Seedings:
Following pool play, all teams advancing to the National
Championship bracket will be seeded based on pool
performance and results. Thereafter, the bracket structure shall determine
the next opponent.
Elimination:
Once bracket play begins, a second loss eliminates a team from
the tournament. The eventual
loser's bracket winner meets the remaining undefeated team in
the initial bracket for the National Championship. Should the
team from the loser's bracket win the first game, a second, or
"IF" game would follow.
Age
Cutoffs:
For ALL ages
8's thru 18's,
the age cutoff will be
May 1st.
(Example: A 13U player cannot turn 14 years of age
BEFORE May 1st.)
To determine
YOUR team age, determine the age of your oldest player on
your team as of April 30th.
